Tailyn Communication Company,Ltd. was founded in 1980 by Mr. John Chen as a joint venture with a US partner, Lynch Communication Systems, who owned a 40% share in the company. In 1989, Tailyn bought back the foreign investment from Alcatel who had previously acquired Lynch, making Tailyn a privately-owned company. In 1998, Tailyn went public on the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation (TSEC) market.
During that time, Tailyn's technical capabilities continued to evolve. The Company's core business started in the design, manufacture and sale of local loop access products for advanced optical transmission systems, digital added main line systems, digital loop carrier systems and fiber optic cable.As telecommunications bandwidth requirements grew, existing product lines were expanded to include DSLAM, and Integrated Access Devices.
Tailyn's practice of listening to its customers drove a similar evolution in service and support capabilities. In addition to offering OEM product line solutions, Tailyn also developed original design manufacturer (ODM) and electronics manufacturing services (EMS) capabilities to support the needs of OEM customers who wanted customized support for their own product lines. The EMS business has subsequently broadened to include high mix, variable demand products across a range of industries such as industrial computing, instrumentation, point-of-sale, medical and gaming, In accordance with corporate's strategies, Tailyn will focus on EMS plus and ODM business services since 2010.
Today, Tailyn helps its customers reduce product development time, support technologically complex production and test requirements, reduce cost through flexible manufacturing options, and support end market logistics and service needs. Customers can choose whether an ODM or EMS solution best fits their requirements.
