Tailyn's robust New Product Development and Introduction to mass production (NPD/NPI) process is to ensure our customer's success from the earlier phase of product development. We are committed to meeting our customers' needs for achieving cost competitiveness, designed-in quality, shortest cycle time, on-time delivery, and most importantly, risk-free mass production.
Once when a NPD/NPI request is approved for kick-off, a dedicated project team is formed. The team is led by a project manager who serves as the central point of contact with the customer.
Tailyn's process involves three phases:
• EV (Engineering Verification)
• DV (Design Verification)
• MV (Manufacturing Verification)
Project complexity and customer service level preferences determine if all three phases are fully required. Activities, recommendations, data and documentation are thoroughly reviewed during each phase.
Tailyn takes a proactive approach in designing quality into product and manufacturing processes. We perform DFMEA and PFMEA analyses to ensure design robustness. This results in early detection of potential failures and implementation of corrective actions prior to mass production.
Tailyn's NPD/NPI process also focuses on risk mitigation over the product lifecycle. From a materials perspective, component lifecycle analysis, material availability, and approved vendor list (AVL) quality and cost competitiveness are reviewed. In addition to product testability and manufacturability, post-manufacturing serviceability and "green" environmental requirements are also evaluated. Recommendations are made and implemented once approved by the customer.
The end result is strong support from a dedicated team in accordance with a mutually-agreed upon project plan and schedule.
